Walkway Replacement and Front Yard Landscape Design That Actually Works

The old walkway here was a mismatched mix of bluestone and brick-toned pieces that had seen better days. Uneven, worn, and honestly not doing this home any favors - it just didn't match the character of the property. That's what we started with.

We pulled everything out and laid a new paver walkway with a clean light grey field stone and a darker charcoal border running the full length. That border detail is the kind of thing that makes a walkway look intentional rather than just functional. The gentle curve from the sidewalk up to the front steps ties the whole path together naturally.

At the same time, we reworked the planting bed along the front of the house. Fresh dark mulch, hydrangeas, boxwoods, ornamental grass, and a few accent plants spaced out to give everything room to grow. It's a simple, structured design - nothing overcomplicated. Just the right plants in the right places.

When hardscape and landscaping work together like this, the result is an entry that feels complete. The walkway leads you in, and the planting bed frames the house. Neither one would have the same impact on its own. That's the difference between doing one thing and doing the whole picture.

Good front entry work holds up. The pavers are set right, the plants are in healthy soil with fresh mulch, and the whole layout was designed to look sharp long-term - not just for a week after install.
